• New Digital AMS Now Available

JUKI has launched the new "AMS-221F Series" computer-controlled cycle machine which improves seam quality through digitalization allows for complete control of machine parameters.

Once the operator places a sewing material on the machine it automatically carries out the entire production sequence from sewing to thread trimming according to premade stitch data.  The automatic functionality seen in all Juki’s AMS models contributes to labor saving, deskilling of operators and vast productivity improvements.

This sewing machine is available for a broader range of sewing applications such as air bags, attaching of labels, decorative stitching and many more.

The improved software and the increased rigidity of the feed mechanism not only help reduce the vibration during operation but also increase accuracy of needle entry points. As a result, consistent seams are produced without slippage of material. In addition, the sewing machine is able to sew heavy-weight materials smoothly  since the needle's penetrating power into the material is increased by the newly-developed retry function. The AMS-221F Series is the first AMS Series that introduces the bird's nest preventing function (for reducing tangling of thread at the beginning of sewing) of the LK-1900BNB (computer-controlled bartacking machines).

The operation panel has been redesigned and allow sewing data to be edited and changed directly at the machine. A NFC module has also been added meaning that AMS-221F series is fully compatible with the Juki Smart App. With the Juki Smart App information on the sewing machine operation is displayed real time allowing for easy control of production progresses. In addition, the aggregated data can be plotted on charts and then used for production improvement activities.

Improved Seam Quality

The industry's most accurate needle entry point is ensured via increased rigidity to the feeding frame and JUKI's unique high-performance feed control system. This eliminates uneven material feed during outward/inward sewing. Both intermittent feeding and continuous feeding can be selected depending on the requirements our your materials and products.
Improve penetrating power for extra heavy-weight material is aided by the newly-developed retry function.

Beautifully-finished seams without bird's are produced as thread trimming is performed at the beginning of sewing, thread tangling in at the beginning of sewing is reduced.

Shorter thread remaining function - Since the counter knife position has been changed the length of the needle thread and bobbin thread remaining on the material after thread trimming is reduced to 5 mm or less. As a result, securing of thread at the end of sewing is no longer required.

*The bird's nest reduction function and shorter-thread remaining function cannot be used simultaneously.

Newly-developed active tension that is used for setting the needle thread tension is now added with new functions. The output can be changed over with the memory switch between the low- tension side output and the high-tension side output to enable fine adjustment of the thread tension in the actual area of use.

Non-magnetic material is adopted to the throat plate auxiliary cover. As a result, the presser foot pressure or sewing performance is not affected by a magnetic resistance even when a magnet throat plate is used.

The IP-500 is the newly-developed operation panel that comes with a high- resolution touch-panel screen. The speed of response to the operation is increased. The operator is able to input/edit data while visually observing the needle entry points. A file name consisting of 12 alphanumeric characters can be set to a piece of pattern data. In addition, since the corrective measure is additionally displayed to the error message it is possible to easily reset if an error occurs

Data on sewing machine adjustments made according to the product to be sewn can be transferred to a tablet or smart phone via the Juki Smart App. JUKI Smart APP allows you to send and confirm various data.

Enhancement of the work environment

The AMS-221F has adopted the direct-drive system by means of a compact AC servomotor. Thanks to the capabilities enabled by the direct-drive system such as the panel screen display OFF feature and motor-excitation OFF feature, the power consumption is reduced by 12.2 % as compared with the AMS-221EN.
noise/vibration helps provide an operator-friendly work environment. Sewing machine noise is reduced by 3.0 decibels compared to conventional machine and the vibration of the sewing machine was reduced by 3.0 decibels compared with the conventional machine.
