The 9th of October was an important day for sewing industry in Ukraine. In the Lutsk National Technical University, SOFTORG in cooperation with the JUKI, MALKAN and SERKON, opened the first training and research laboratory of the garment industry in the region.
Representatives of the garment industry, SOFTORG and JUKI, the leadership of LNTU and representatives of the Volyn Regional State Administration participated in the official launch of the sewing lab.
Petro Savchuk the rector of LNTU introduced the laboratory as place which will fulfill several functions. Among others, the high-quality training of specialists and promotion of modern technologies for the garment industry. This unique place can attract more entrants to the university, as students will be able to study on modern equipment. Furthermore, the Lab gives chance to help reducing the outflow of young specialists which has been happening in Ukraine in recent years.
This is the third laboratory initiated by SOFTORG (similar ones were launched in Kyiv and Khmelnytsky) where the latest technology of sewing machines from JUKI was provided for the betterment of the industry. The main aim of this project is the skill improvement of future employees and a positive impact to the region's development in relation to the garment industry.
At the opening of the laboratory the technical capabilities of the JUKI machines were demonstrated. Choosing the latest technology, the initiators wanted to make sure that the solutions will be long-lasting and durable for use in the year to come. LNTU received machines from JUKI and MALKAN free of charge and SOFTORG will take care of the machines technical maintenance and installation.
