• White and Red: Celebrating 100 Years Through Patchwork

2018 was a special year in Polish History marking the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence.

That is why the Polish Patchwork Association wanted to join the celebration of this anniversary - in their own patchwork manner.

Throughout 2018 they encouraged everyone to take part in a contest entitled "White and red". The only rule of the competition was that only these colours could be used, in an expression of national celebration and to commemorate the colours on the Polish flag. Fabrics could have a fine pattern, small prints, but the dominant colour in both cases should be white and red.

The Association accepted work in two categories:

  1. Small jobs - maximum width 40 cm x maximum height 40 cm
  2. Large work - minimum width 100 cm x minimum height 100 cm
